Job Description

Job Title: Finance and Compliance Manager
Work Location: Leadx Nepal (its partners)
Contract period: 2 year
Reports to: Executive Director of Operation and Director of Compliances

Job Responsibilities:

  • Thoroughly conduct day to day accounting transactions including petty cash, bookkeeping, cash accounts, and bank reconciliations.
  • Prepare payment and receipt vouchers, including preparation of monthly financial reports.
  • Update all the required tax liabilities in the Inland Revenue Department.
  • Update all the required documentation and database in the Company registrar office.
  • Ensure that governance and internal controls (as per the company’s policies) are well maintained and are in compliance with all the necessary transactions.
  • Prepare budget and record keeping for proposals and ensure all the income and expenses are formulated as per the budget.
  • Provide detailed reasoning on the variance occurring on the budget and actual financial report.
  • Overall logistic management including organizing and monitoring storage and distribution of goods and final products (Publications). Managing the entire order cycle (goods or services) so as to enhance business development and ensure sustainability and customer satisfaction.
  • Enhancing the organization's human resources by planning, implementing, and evaluating employee relations and human resources policies, programs, and practices. Maintaining the work structure by updating job requirements and job descriptions for all positions.
  • Thoroughly involve in planning, organizing, managing and coordinating various types of National and International events, field visits, policy dialogues and lobby meetings. Usually, coordinating meetings with clients determine details about events.
  • Objectively review an organization's business processes. Evaluating the efficacy of risk management procedures that are currently in place. Protect against fraud and theft of the organization's assets.
  • Determining the cost of operations by establishing standard costs; collecting operational data and identifying financial status by comparing and analyzing actual results with plans and forecasts.
  • Performing performance analysis, preparing reports and evaluating current performance trends. Also, responsible to advise the management team on potential performance risk and strategic decisions in alignment with business objectives and legislation.

Compliance:

  • Set up compliance tools for financial and accounting oversight and monitoring and manage the implementation of those tools.
  • Develop an effective system to monitor controls are in place to minimize risk; furthermore, implement compliance tools for planning and budgeting, and finance and accounting processes.
  • Work closely with the Executive Chairperson to monitor implementation of these processes and for clarity of communication of the processes.
Other Duty:
  • Develop innovative financial services / packages in partnership with all the stakeholders to support the growth of the business.
  • Prepare communication materials regarding taxes and legal compliances to our business partners both nationally and internationally.

  • Communication skills: The Finance and Compliance Manager must have strong communication skills to be able to convey messages to clients and team members. He/ she must be able to effectively share their vision, goals, ideas and issues. He/she also needs communication skills to produce presentations and reports.
  • Team management skills: A Finance and Compliance Manager must be able to bring a team together and move them in one direction, aligning their personal goals with those of the organization. Team management skills include the ability to effectively delegate responsibilities, handle conflicts, evaluate performances and coach team members to help them improve their skills.
  • Time management skills: Finance and Compliance Manager must be able to create a project timeline and maintain those deadlines throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Interpersonal skills: Interpersonal skills include self-confidence, relationship management and collaboration skills. The Finance and Compliance Manager must be able to collaborate well as part of a team allows the team to work together more productively and complete the project more efficiently.

Minimum requirements:

  • At least 4 years of experience in a similar role and position at senior officer level
  • Minimum Bachelor's degree in relevant field
  • CA preferred
