Candidate Criteria:

  • Accounting/bookkeeping degree.
  • A minimum 3 years of experience or 1 of work experience in a non-profit organization will be preferable
  • Well-developed computer skills, including Microsoft Office, general ledger packaging, and financial reporting systems.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English and Nepali
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Proven experience in accounting, finance management, and tax compliance (including VAT and TDS).
  • Experience in maintaining payroll, leave records, and HR-related financial management.
  • Familiarity with financial software and accounting systems.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Experience/understanding of not-for-profit and NGO accounting systems with multi-funding sources.
  • Strong understanding of financial reporting, reconciliation, and project-specific bookkeeping.
  • Knowledge of financial regulations and compliance, including donor relations and government reporting.

Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Finance and Administrative Officer to manage and oversee the financial operations of our organization. The ideal candidate must have a strong background in accounting, financial management, and compliance, with prior experience of working in NGO.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage accounting systems, ensuring accurate record-keeping of all financial transactions, income, expenditure, and assets.
  • Prepare and authorize payments (including salaries), manage VAT and TDS on vendor payments and salaries, and ensure timely settlement with tax authorities.
  • Handle monthly reconciliations, submit profit and loss statements, and support the preparation of project financial reports.
  • Oversee banking operations, including timely reconciliation, bill entry, and coordination with banks.
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations, government policies, and internal procedures, and coordinate with auditors and donor agencies for financial audits and compliance.
  • Assist in financial planning and contribute to organizational budgeting and policy development.
