Relief Nepal is a non-profit making, non-governmental, non-political, social development organization of Sindhuli district. It was established in 2008 AD with the core objective of vulnerable and marginalized people especially women, children, youth and people living with marginalized condition are empowerment and participated in decision process about the issue affecting their livelihood. It has successfully implemented Livelihood, Child Rights, WASH, Education and DRR projects in five districts. In partnership with World Vision International Nepal (WVIN), Relief Nepal is implementing Integrated Protection Community Engagement and Sponsorship Plan (P-CESP) in Tinpatan, Golanjor and Phikkal Rural Municipality of Sindhuli district. Job Location: Sindhuli District

Reports: Gender and M&E Officer / Program Coordinator

Purpose of position:

Field Supervisor is community based staff who will fully involve in facilitation to WASH champions for BCC sessions, regular monitoring of Wash champions and conduct training and orientation at ward level. He or She will be facilitate to R/MW/WASHCC formation, WASH plan preparation, involve in planning process, data collection from the community, engaged in different level of assessment and community mobilization.

Educational Qualification and Experiences:

  • PCL level or Intermaediate level passed
  • At least 2 years’ experience in community mobilization in WASH program
  • implementation or similar experiences in previous as WASH facilitator, WASH trigger or social mobilizer.
  • He/ should be from local community. Priority will be given for female, excluded and from Dalit and janjati of local community

Knowledge: 

  • Good knowledge in Sanitation Hygiene Master Policy, guideline, local level planning process
  • Depth knowledge on total sanitation campaign

Skills:

  • Communication, Facilitation skills in local languages and Nepali communication, coordination and reporting skill is key skill for this position.
  • Data base reporting is essential requirement for the
  • position
  • Two wheel driving and Basic Computer skill (Word, excel, power point, Internet email and database management) will be asset but not mandatory

Key Role and Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate and trained to WASH champions
  • Ensure and involve in local level planning process as per the community need
  • Facilitate WASH champions to mobilize community and different groups i.e are water users group, mothers groups and forest users group etc
  • Maintain regular recoding and reporting collected from the WASH champions
  • Support WASH Champions to conduct BCC sessions, data collection, and community meeting and community level coordination.
  • Coordination with local government and community for project implementation of the Action Plan including its self-monitoring and implementation
  • Inform and educate community on the benefits of O&M fund as well as water use tariff for the sustainability of the scheme. Assist community in the selection process of the care takers.
  • Field supervisor shall ensure and educate community about household health, hygiene and sanitation and for the construction, use and cleanliness of household latrines by mobilization of WASH champions Conducted the training and orientation in leadership, gender and, O&M fund to create awareness about GESI in the scheme through guideline provided by the Plan International Nepal
  • To conduct community and school level survey, awareness program on sanitation and hygiene at school through WASH Champions in schools
  • Conduct orientation and meeting with concerned local stakeholders, boys, girls, youth, women and stakeholders
  • Formation of WASH CC in schools and Wards Mobilize responsible committee members for intensive WASH initiatives
  • Regular monitoring and collection of BCC session data from WASH champions and monitoring to BCC session regularly
  • Organized review reflection with WASH champions and Health facility
  • Regular collection of data of growth monitoring from selected HF and organized review reflection with HF staff
  • Facilitation in WASH planning and water safety plan preparation including planning process 
  • Keep systematic record of project activities and submit event, monthly and periodic reports to the project coordinator
  • Coordination with ward and municipality level is another task
  • Facilitation in gender and WASH Monitoring Tools (GWMT) during its roll out process
