Women and Destituted Castes Revoking Forum (WADCRF), Dolpa is a non- profit making, non-patrician and leading Nepali non-governmental organization (NGO) working in the areas of rights of poor, women, children, Dalit and Ethnic groups by the development of transportation, livestock, horticulture, tourism and proper utilization of biodiversity. WADCRF's major interventions are towards eradicating poverty, illiteracy, hunger, and social as well as political discrimination and promote social justice, distributive justice, and equity and thus build an egalitarian society through empowerment, and organized mobilization of Dolpali people for rights, entitlements and resources.

Now, WADCRF is implementing “Community-based Red Panda Conservation in Nepal-II” in Mudkechulaa Rural Municipality of Dolpa district in partnership with Red Panda Network (RPN) from 2025. The project has five major thematic areas viz., Research and Monitoring, Education & Outreach, Habitat Management, Sustainable Livelihood and Policy & Advocacy.

Position: Field Program Officer/Associate
No. of Vacancy/s:
Job Location: Mudkechula, Dolpa with frequent field visits as needed.
Offered Salary: NRs. 34,000.00 - 37,000.00/Monthly
Contract Period: One year from the date of recruitment

Qualification

  • Diploma in Forestry with minimum of 3-years of experience and preferably. Bachelor’s degree in Forestry/Environmental Science, or a related field with prior field-based work experience of 1 year and sound knowledge in natural resource management, biodiversity conservation, and livelihood programs.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills in Nepali and English.
  • Good in handling MS Office packages (Ms. Word, Excel, PowerPoint), and Google Workspace.
  • Strong communication, coordination and team-building skills.
  • Good knowledge and skill in data and information collection, documentation, and presentation with the appropriate format.
  • Ability to work in a team and frequently travel and work in remote areas and adverse field conditions for multiple months.
  • Able to generate project ideas from the learnings in the field.
  • Having experience or interest in working in the community level and conservation sector.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Implement activities in the field and coordinate with the relevant stakeholders for their effective implementation according to the work plan under the supervision of Focal Person and Program Officer.
  • Produce annual and periodic reports for the implementation of the activities of the project and submit them to the relevant agencies (such as admin, board, partners, government agencies, etc.).
  • Track and report issues and challenges faced during program implementation.
  • Coordinate and communicate with relevant government offices (Division Forest Office, District Coordination Committee, Community Forest User Groups, local councils, etc.) and local representatives, and/or the program staff as appropriate, to maintain relationships and collaboration to implement programs.
  • Timely submission of reports, minutes, photographs, field notes, and data after the completion of each activity.
  • Preparation of reports on outputs and outcomes, drafting letters, presentations, work plans, and strategies as required.
  • Collect reports, evidence, data, stories, news, and case studies related to the project implementation, its progress, and results.
  • Monitor the project activities and ensure timely completion and follow-ups.
  • Attend workshops and field visits as per requirements.
  • Great organizational and time management skills.
