Job Description

The Coordinator will support the Provincial Investment Authority (PIA) of Province 1 in creating a pipeline of implementable projects and developing relevant guiding documents/strategy papers and is required to assist the Provincial Investment Authority’s Chief Executive Officer, Provincial Ministries, and other relevant agencies in Province 1.

The consultant will be required to perform the following activities (but not limited to):

  • Assist the Chief Executive of the Provincial Investment Authority, Province 1, in tasks pertaining to project identification, selection and any other related matter.
  • Liaise with provincial and local governments, as required including for regular interaction between groups of local governments and PIA.
  • Obtain public information pertaining to Province 1 government decisions, policies, programs, budget, and other proceedings during economic development strategy/investment plan formulation.
  • Liaise with relevant development partners working in the Province.
  • Travel to various project sites, areas/regional hubs within Province 1 and collect information (qualitative and quantitative) through FGDs/KIIs/Survey other relevant tools on potential projects or other aspects of regional economic development, integrate collected data and send to concerned partners and PIA in timely manner.
  • Assist in identifying existing economic hubs and corridors based on decision of PIA in course of project identification and priority settings.
  • Assist in the development, drafting, review, discussion, validation, and endorsement of various policies, reports, knowledge products.
  • Assist in gathering GIS/GPS point data of industries, markets, and other economic areas located in project sites.
  •  On behalf of CEO, VRock and NIURS, establish strong linkages with provincial authorities and targeted local governments, regional and local public, private, and independent stakeholders.
  •  Facilitate quarterly information/progress sharing sessions with provincial authorities, targeted local governments, and stakeholders.
  • Conduct meetings with potential stakeholders and develop field reports
  • Draft descriptions of projects (concept note) of potential projects by compiling and analysing available information
  • Facilitate meetings (including virtual meetings) with relevant partners and stakeholders and prepare meeting minutes.
  • Work in close coordination with VRock, CEO, TAF and NIURS and respond to inquiries regarding field activities and data collected
  • Prepare and submit regular (monthly) reports of filed level activities in a format prescribed by consortium partners, namely VRock, CEO, TAF and NIURS
  • Any other activities as and when required and instructed by VRock/CEO/TAF/NIURS
  • Report to the Project Manager/Team leader as designated
