Job Description

Basic Function of the Position:

The HOD in English will be responsible for teaching high school level students and overseeing the academic direction and administrative management of the English department within the school. Also, will plays a crucial role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality education and fostering an environment conducive to academic excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the English department, including curriculum development, lesson planning, and faculty supervision.
  • Develop and deliver engaging and effective English language and literature courses.
  • Mentor and support English faculty members in their professional development.
  • Monitor and assess student progress and provide additional support where needed.
  • Coordinate with other departments and administrative staff to ensure smooth academic operations.
  • Encourage and participate in academic research and publication within the field of English studies.
  • Update and enhance the English curriculum to meet educational standards and student needs.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative working environment within the department.
