Job Description

The Export Manager will lead the company’s export operations and international market development. This role will focus on promoting and exporting high-potential Nepal-origin products. The Export Manager will be responsible for identifying globally demanded products, promoting Nepalese-origin goods, managing export logistics, and coordinating across MKCL’s group of subsidiaries and associates to build a strong and sustainable global presence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement export strategies to enter and expand in international markets.
  • Actively promote Nepalese-origin products (MAPs, NTFP, seeds, cheese, dog chews, spices, etc.) through international exhibitions, trade fairs, B2B platforms, and digital channels.
  • Build brand identity for MKCL products in target export markets.
  • Identify potential international buyers, distributors, and business partners.
  • Maintain strong client relationships and manage after-sales communication and support.
  • Conduct continuous research on global market trends, consumer demand, and pricing for agricultural and natural products.
  • Identify new and emerging product opportunities based on international demand (e.g., medicinal herbs, organic seeds, functional foods, pet wellness products).
  • Provide feedback to production teams for product development, packaging, and labeling aligned with target market standards.
  • Explore opportunities for product certification (organic, fair trade, halal, etc.) to enhance marketability.
  • Oversee the complete export process: order processing, documentation, freight coordination, customs clearance, and final delivery.
  • Ensure all export shipments meet destination country regulations and compliance (e.g., phytosanitary, food safety, labeling).
  • Prepare and manage export documentation (invoice, packing list, certificate of origin, bill of lading, etc.).
  • Coordinate with regulatory bodies, freight forwarders, and logistics providers.
  • Collaborate with MKCL’s subsidiary companies to ensure consistent product quality and timely availability for export.
  • Streamline export supply chains by integrating production, quality assurance, and inventory planning across subsidiaries.
  • Assist subsidiaries in achieving export readiness through training, systems, and documentation support.
  • Prepare regular reports on export performance, sales pipelines, client feedback, and market intelligence.
  • Provide strategic input on pricing, packaging, marketing approach, and product positioning based on buyer trends.
  • Monitor competitor activities and propose tactical changes to improve global competitiveness.
