Job Description

Position Summary:

HEART of Nepal is seeking a dynamic and motivated Program Director (PD) to lead the Prograand support its ongoing project. The PD will be primarily responsible for ensuring the successful implementation of the current phase of the program achieving its outcomes and outputs within the agreed timeline.

Major Responsibilities

The Program Director will oversee the overall development of HEART of Nepal and undertake the following key tasks:

  • Lead the field team and accountant, providing clear guidelines on project implementation.
  • Monitor field operations through regular field visits.
  • Coordinate with targeted school authorities, local government representatives, project beneficiaries, including children, to gather perspectives and feedback on project implementation.
  • Anticipate potential delays or barriers to planned activities and devise mitigation strategies.
  • Identify the training needs of team members and deliver on-site training during visits; organize special training sessions as needed.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance beneficiary participation and foster collaboration with local government authorities.
  •  Deliver concise yet comprehensive quarterly reports to CIAO Kids Foundation (CK) within set deadlines.
  • Ensure timely submission of monthly financial reports.
  • Lead monthly Zoom meetings with CK in collaboration with the Project Manager and Accountant.
  •  Coordinate and plan visits by the CK team.
  • Report to the Executive Committee of HEART of Nepal.

Long-term Responsibilities:

To support the long-term goals of the project, the PD will also:

  • Identify wards with potential for scaling up based on assessed needs.
  • Facilitate discussions within the team and with stakeholders to develop an efficient model for scaling up in new wards and phasing out or scaling down in existing ones, aligning with the shared vision of CK and HEART of Nepal.
  • Explore new funding opportunities, both locally and internationally, to complement the ongoing project with CK.
  • Safeguarding and Compliance: The Program Director will be responsible and comply the safeguarding policy and other concerned policies of HEART of Nepal.
