Request for Proposal for Consultancy Firm for Humanitarian Training

1. Background

Friends of the Disabled (FoD) and the Hospital and Rehabilitation Centre for Disabled Children (HRDC) are committed to strengthening organizational capacity in humanitarian preparedness and response. To achieve this, FoD/HRDC intends to engage a consultancy firm with expertise in humanitarian training to design and deliver a tailored capacity-building program.

2. Objective of the Assignment

The primary objective is to equip staff and partners with knowledge and practical skills in humanitarian principles, standards, and disability-inclusive response,thereby enhancing organizational readiness and effectiveness during humanitarian crises.

3. Scope of Work / Key Tasks

The selected consultancy firm will:

  • Develop a comprehensive training package contextualized to FoD/HRDC’s work.
  • Deliver a 4-day training on humanitarian principles, standards (Sphere, Core Humanitarian Standard, etc.), disability-inclusive humanitarian response, and coordination mechanisms.
  • Utilize participatory and practical approaches, including group exercises, simulations, and case studies.
  • Provide training materials and resources (soft and hard copies).
  • Submit a final report summarizing sessions, key learnings, participant evaluations, and recommendations.

4. Duration and Venue

  • Training Duration: 4 days
  • Timeline: Within the third week of September 2025 (Preferred September 17– 20, 2025)
  • Venue: HRDC training hall, Banepa, Kavre

5. Deliverables

  • Training agenda and methodology note.
  • Training materials (soft and hard copy).
  • 4 days of training facilitation.
  • Final training report including participant feedback and recommendations.

6. Required Expertise of the Consultancy Firm

The firm should demonstrate:

  • Proven track record in designing and delivering humanitarian training.
  • Expertise in humanitarian standards and disability-inclusive approaches.
  • Team members with at least 5 years of relevant experience in humanitarian programming and capacity building.
  • Previous experience in South Asia/Nepal is an advantage
  • Strong facilitation skills and ability to engage diverse participants

7. Reporting and Supervision

The consultancy firm will work under the supervision of FoD/HRDC Project Management and coordinate closely with the assigned focal person.

8. Payment Terms

Payment will be made upon submission and acceptance of deliverables as outlined in the contract.
