Production of SYAHAAR Project Introductory Video
VSO is an international development agency with over 60 years’ experience of addressing poverty and marginalisation through our unique approach of working through international, national and community volunteers. By bringing together different perspectives and working at all levels of society – from communities to government ministries – volunteers can build trust and provide the right support to ensure that national development efforts deliver lasting change. Our works falls into the three thematic areas of Health, Education and Livelihoods.
Through our unique Relational Volunteering and Volunteering for Development (VfD) approach, VSO projects integrate the expertise and passion of national, international and community volunteers to deliver lasting impacts in development. A key part of our work is the “web of support” we provide volunteers – including their induction and orientation – which helps to sustain and accelerate the contribution of our volunteers. There is a recurring need to effectively introduce newly arriving volunteers about engagement with the cultures, communities and customs where we work, while also informing them about key aspects of VSO as an organization. Through VSO’s VfD methodology, VSO Nepal has been able to help mobilise youths and community volunteers to ensure the continuation of essential services for the most marginalised, and vulnerable adolescents and youth.
