Consultancy Service Production of Video Documentary

Background

VSO began operating in Nepal in 1964 and has been a constant and trusted presence throughout the country’s turbulent recent history and disasters. Using our unique Volunteering for Development approach we have brought thousands of people together over the years to generate insights, ideas and, above all, action on poverty and exclusion. Today VSO aims to strengthen efforts by Nepal’s stakeholders to be more responsive to and actively engaged in supporting disadvantaged groups. We achieve this through our signature programmes in Inclusive Governance and Inclusive Education. We recognize that social inclusion and gender, social accountability and resilience are critical to ensure sustainable, systemic change, and these now core to our development approach.

The Sisters for Sisters’ Education project II envisions that marginalised adolescent girls from four districts in rural Nepal – Surkhet, Parsa, Dhading and Lamjung – will transition from basic to secondary education, and secondary to upper secondary, empowered to leave school to either secure a sustainable livelihood or continue with education. They will be equipped with skills, bolstered by strong learning outcomes that improve employability, enhance confidence and self-esteem to act as leaders, and enable them to influence and control their own sexual and reproductive health rights (SRHR).

This ToR is in relation to GEC-T project Sisters for Sisters; Education in Nepal animated video based on the mentoring manual of the project. The project profile and it’s interventions on Child Protection, Adolescent Sexual Reproductive Health Rights and Big Sisters mentoring module. To create consistency with our evolving organizational brand guidelines and expanding track record, efforts should be taken to ensure the video files can be easily refreshed regularly with updated brand assets (logos, font, colours, etc.)

  • Thematic Intervention: Underpinning the educational transition points, the project will also support the transition from adolescence to adulthood for the girls from an ASRHR perspective, boosting girls’ self-worth so they do not only see themselves (or are seen) as wives or mothers and recognise that they have a choice when it comes to deciding when to get married, have children and how they would choose to plan their futures.
