DAI Global UK Ltd., through the Udaya Project Facilitation Unit (PFU), invites commercial banks to submit their proposals for partnership along with the necessary documentation, preferably via email, to join as Partner Banks (PBs). These banks shall play a pivotal role in providing lending support to SMEs within Koshi Province. By collaborating with the Udaya Project, partner banks will contribute to shaping an inclusive financial landscape, enabling SMEs to access innovative financing solutions bolstered by provincial credit guarantees. This partnership promises to be a cornerstone in driving sustainable economic growth and prosperity in the region.

The Udaya Project Phase 1, jointly funded by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) and the Government of Koshi Province (GoKP), operates under a bilateral agreement between the Government of Nepal and the Government of Switzerland. This project is being implemented by the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Planning (MoEAP) in Koshi Province and DAI Global UK LTD (Technical Assistance Provider), in association with Access Advisory, from December 2023 for four years with a clearly mandated geographical focus in the Koshi Province.

The project aims to provide growth capital to SMEs , particularly those in the Missing Middle, through a partner bank. The bank will benefit from investment ready proposals by Business Development Services providers (BDSP) . Additionally , credit risk will be shared through the Provincial Guarantee Fund. Furthermore, Digital information portal will address information asymmetry among SMEs with critical financial and operational insights.
