1. ESG Program & Project Coordination:
The ESG Manager is responsible for planning, executing, and overseeing ESG programs to ensure they align with the organization’s sustainability goals. This includes developing ESG roadmaps, managing project timelines, tracking deliverables, and maintaining clear and organized project documentation to ensure timely and effective implementation.
2. Data Management & Reporting
This role involves collecting, analyzing, and maintaining ESG-related data and performance indicators. The ESG Manager prepares detailed reports and dashboards to monitor progress, inform decision-making, and support reporting frameworks such as GRI, SASB, and TCFD, ensuring transparency and regulatory compliance.
3. Stakeholder Engagement
The ESG Manager works closely with internal departments like finance, operations, and marketing to embed ESG practices into daily operations. Additionally, the role requires building strong relationships with external stakeholders, including community groups, suppliers, and regulators, to drive shared sustainability goals and foster collaboration.
4. Research, Risk & Compliance
Monitoring evolving ESG trends, risks, and regulations is a critical aspect of this role. The ESG Manager supports the development of ESG policies and compliance documentation, ensuring that the organization adheres to all relevant legal, ethical, and internal standards.
5. Communication & Training
To build ESG awareness across the organization, the ESG Manager develops internal communication materials and leads training initiatives. They promote a culture of sustainability by organizing workshops, campaigns, and capacity-building programs that encourage employee participation and understanding.
6. Event Coordination
The ESG Manager is also responsible for organizing ESG-related events such as stakeholder forums, awareness drives, and sustainability seminars. Representing the organization at external ESG conferences and platforms, they help enhance the company’s visibility and reputation in the sustainability landscape.
