Together with the Government of Nepal (GoN), civil society, and the private sector, FHI 360 works collaboratively in the areas of HIV, family planning (FP)/reproductive health (RH), health security, antimicrobial resistance, nutrition, COVID-19 response, procurement, and supply chain management, local capacity strengthening, civil society and media strengthening, governance reform and the environment and climate change.

Epidemics and Outbreak Response Officer

Key Responsibilities

  • Facilitation and assistance in Rapid Response Team training for COVID-19 frontline conducted by Epidemiology and Disease Control Division (EDCD) at provincial and local level. 
  • Direct and indirect support in outbreak management by joining the Outbreak Investigations and Outbreak Management team if needed. 
  • Facilitation and Assistance in Risk Communication and Community Engagement training conducted by EDCD.
  • Undertake monitoring, reporting, verification, and investigation of events/incidents associated with COVID-19 and other issues with potential public health concerns in coordination with the staff of EDCD. 
  • Assistance and facilitation to EDCD for ongoing Field Epidemiology Training Program for COVID 19 surveillance officer.
  • Support in strengthening and implementation of surveillance and response to the National Alert and Response Framework.
  • Assist EDCD for Rapid Action Plans Development and other any sorts of resource manuals and guidelines. 
  • Perform the duties and carry responsibilities assigned by the Director and Section- chief.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in public health/nursing or related discipline with prior experience of conducting training. 
  • Experience working closely with government stakeholders is desirable.
