Job Description:

IDS Media is looking for an Entertainment & Lifestyle Reporter to support our digital platforms. The successful candidate will work with the section head to generate traffic-driving exclusive stories and agenda-setting original content. The reporter should be able to connect the dots and spot trends in IDS Media’s pursuit of becoming an influential news source for the entertainment and lifestyle scene in the country.

Responsibilities:

• Monitor the latest market studies and trends to conceive of fresh and compelling story ideas.
• Follow the house style and meticulously fact-check copy before filing.
• Respond to assignments on breaking entertainment and lifestyle news.
• Work with team on adding multimedia elements to stories in CMS
• Writing explainers, visual pieces, trend stories, enterprise and profiles.

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication or related field

Qualifications/Requirements:

• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Deep understanding of the Nepali lifestyle trends.
• At least two years of writing experience in a newsroom.
• Ability to write clean, fast and accurate copy, headlines, and photo and video caption. 
• A track record of breaking news, and the desire to be the go-to source for an entertainment and lifestyle audience.
• Precision, attention to detail, and the ability to work with a team.
• Well organized and highly skilled at reporting a variety of story forms, including service journalism, feature stories, enterprise, profiles and news.
