Job Summary

The Engineering Manager is responsible for planning, organizing, and overseeing all engineering, maintenance, and technical operations of the resort to ensure smooth and uninterrupted functioning of all facilities, utilities, and equipment. This role ensures that the property’s infrastructure, guest rooms, public areas, back-of-house operations, and recreational facilities are maintained to the highest standards of safety, efficiency, and guest comfort.

The Engineering Manager plays a key role in preventive maintenance, capital expenditure planning, vendor coordination, energy management, and compliance with safety and statutory regulations.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee daily maintenance operations of the resort, including guest rooms, public areas, staff facilities, and service areas.
Ensure all electrical, plumbing, HVAC, DG sets, water supply, sewage, and mechanical systems function efficiently.
Maintain resort infrastructure including buildings, landscaping utilities, swimming pool systems, and recreational facilities.
Respond promptly to technical breakdowns and emergency repair requirements.
Ensure regular inspections and servicing of electrical panels, generators, lifts, pumps, boilers, and HVAC systems and maintain logs and service records.
Ensure all guest rooms and public facilities are maintained in excellent condition.
Monitor temperature control, lighting, water pressure, and utility availability.
Ensure fire safety systems such as alarms, extinguishers, hydrants, and emergency lighting are operational.
Plan and supervise renovation, refurbishment, and capital projects.
Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and consultants for engineering projects.
Monitor project timelines, quality standards, and budgets.
Ensure minimal disruption to guest operations during project execution.
Monitor energy consumption and utility costs.
Implement energy-saving initiatives and ensure efficient use of electricity, water, fuel, and gas.
Prepare utility usage reports and recommend cost-control measures.
Supervise engineering supervisors, technicians, electricians, plumbers, and support staff.
Prepare duty rosters and allocate work schedules.
Conduct technical training and performance evaluations for team members.
Ensure compliance with safety regulations, local authority standards, and environmental guidelines.
Maintain records related to statutory inspections and certifications.
Prepare annual maintenance budgets and capital expenditure plans.
Monitor engineering expenses and inventory usage also maintain stock of spare parts, tools, and consumables.
Submit periodic reports on maintenance status, breakdowns, and project progress.

Job Specification

Required qualifications for this job

Required Education Level:Under Graduate (Bachelor)

Required Experience:More than 5 years

Other Specification

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related field. Additional certifications in HVAC, fire safety, or facility management are preferred.
Minimum 5–7 years of experience in engineering & maintenance, preferably in hospitality or resort operations.
