Position: Engineer – Outside Plant Network

Main Duties & Responsibilities

Manage and control operation and maintenance of optical fiber network in order to make network availability and network quality standard to highest level,
Track, monitor & control the CM and PM works closely in order to keep the network availability under the defined SLA and meet defined KPI's
Prepare periodic plan to mitigate frequent impact on the fiber network including liaison with internal and external stakes as needed
Prepare and update the guideline/process documents for effective operation and maintenance of optical fiber network
Support for BC, RFP, BoM preparation and Contract verification required for OFC operation and maintenance
Co-ordination with related internal and external stakeholders, vendor, and contractor for any O&M task and governmental authority for ROW permission
Researching and developing fiber optic deployment techniques and approaches; validating documents for all operation and maintenance works for effective and quality works
Periodic performance and trend analysis of SLA, & KPI's of O&M works and implement quick plans for overcoming underperformance situation
Support for planning and deployment of Optical fiber network by studying network/business requirements.
Support on delivery and operation of Fixed Enterprise Service
Plan and acquire leased OFC connectivity and Capacity lease as per requirement
Smart Patrolling and Remote Fiber Test System planning, deployment and operation including fiber network integration in GIS based platform for real time monitoring as per needs
Stock Inventory management and Reconciliation of OFC materials required for OFC O&M
Support on DWDM and IPRAN or other related network operation relating OFC connectivity
Support other key initiatives as the business dictates.

Qualification and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in engineering with minimum 4 years of work experience OR Master's Degree / Professional Degree with 2 years of relevant experience
Preference would be given to candidates having experience on operation, deployment & planning of optical fiber network
Good understanding and knowledge on Fixed Enterprise Network including IP networks

Profile

Sound knowledge of OFC specification, deployment standards, operation & maintenance of OFC network
Understanding of Optical network topology and traffic concepts
Good knowledge on processes and standards required for OFC operation and maintenance including planning/deployment
Understanding about ROW, legal prospects, NTA and other government guidelines for OFC infrastructure development.
Knowledge of data networking including understanding of IP, Ethernet and other data networking protocols.
Good understanding and knowledge on Fixed Enterprise Network and Service Delivery
Project management skills

Good Communication and Presentation Skills
Vendor Management Skills
