Job Summary:

The Electro-Mechanical Engineer will play a crucial role in the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of electro-mechanical systems and equipment related to our hydro and solar power projects. This mid-level position requires a professional with a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to manage projects effectively from conception through to completion and operation. The successful candidate will work closely with various stakeholders, conduct thorough project feasibility studies, perform regular site visits to ensure quality control during construction and operation, and contribute to the overall success of MayaHold energy vertical.

Key Responsibilities:

Design and Development:

  • Create detailed blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings for electrical and mechanical components of hydro and solar power plants.
  • Ensure all designs adhere to industry standards, safety regulations, and project specifications.
  • Select appropriate materials, equipment, and technologies that optimize performance, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.

Project Management:

  • Participate in all phases of project execution, from initial planning and scheduling to budgeting and resource coordination.
  • Develop comprehensive project plans, define project scopes, set timelines, and monitor progress to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Manage interfaces with various contractors, including civil, hydromechanical (HM), and electro-mechanical (EM) suppliers, ensuring seamless coordination and integration.
  • Prepare regular progress reports and present findings to senior management and other stakeholders.

Site Supervision and Quality Control:

  • Conduct regular and thorough site visits to oversee the installation, testing, and commissioning of electro-mechanical equipment.
  • Ensure all construction and installation work is performed according to approved drawings, standards, and specifications.
  • Identify potential issues, troubleshoot problems that arise during construction or operation, and implement effective solutions.
  • Perform quality assurance checks and ensure compliance with all relevant safety and environmental regulations.

Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Work closely with internal and external stakeholders, including government agencies, local communities, consultants, contractors, and suppliers.
  • Build and maintain positive working relationships, effectively convey technical information, and address stakeholder concerns.
  • Participate in meetings, prepare presentations, and contribute to the overall stakeholder management strategy.

Feasibility Studies and Technical Analysis:

  • Conduct detailed feasibility studies for new and ongoing projects, assessing technical viability, economic feasibility, and potential risks.
  • Analyze data, perform complex calculations, and utilize engineering software and simulation tools to evaluate design options and project scenarios.
  • Engage in research and development activities, staying abreast of the latest advancements in electro-mechanical engineering and renewable energy technologies.

Operations and Maintenance:

  • Oversee the periodic maintenance of electrical and mechanical systems once projects are operational.
  • Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules.
  • Diagnose and repair faults, ensuring the long-term reliability and efficiency of power generation assets.

General Engineering Practice:

  • Apply methodical thinking to manage complex projects.
  • Attend to detailed technicalities while maintaining an overview of entire projects.
