Job Description

The Maintenance Officer is primarily responsible for ensuring the proper functioning and maintenance of various systems and equipment within Hotel Sarowar. The key role of the Maintenance Officer is to maintain a safe, comfortable, and functional environment for guests and employees. This position requires a diverse skill set and the ability to handle a wide range of maintenance tasks like plumbing, carpentry, solving electrical problems, inspecting buildings, etc. efficiently. Some of the duties include inspecting buildings, maintaining inventory, and scheduling repairs. 

Responsibilities:

  • Inspecting the hotel on a regular basis to ensure it meets safety standards.
  • Organizing repair projects whilst ensuring no disturbance to the hotel guests.
  • Planning and overseeing renovations and constructions.
  • Acting promptly to resolve emergency issues like power outages.
  • Finding ways to reduce hotel operating costs and conserve energy.
  • Supervising and ensuring the maintenance team members are trained.
  • Maintaining budgets, expenses, and activity logs.
  • Ensuring the maintenance checklists are prepared are implemented on a regular basis.
  • Inspecting all emergency tools on a regular basis and ensuring they are working fine.
  • Training the team members to act in emergency situations as and when they arise and sharing knowledge and skills.
  • Inspecting and finding the areas of improvement and taking measures to improve those areas.
  • Testing and troubleshooting and performing basic repairs on all types of equipment and the issues and acting on the complaints on a timely basis.
  • Understanding and operating advanced electrical, plumbing, refrigerating, and boiler systems.
  • Performing maintenance activities in the guest room like plunging toilets, unclogging drains, and repairing all types of hardware, and electrical equipment including lamps, air conditioners/ HVAC, and AC ducts when required.
  • Cleaning, lubricating, protecting, and maintaining all tools and equipment in the hotel.
  • Operating as an independent mechanic by analyzing problems, identifying courses of action, and implementing solutions with available resources and to a high degree of quality.
  • Be available for any emergencies and act in a maintenance capacity to protect guests and associates, and preserve the building and its system during the emergency.
  • Maintaining maintenance inventory and requisition parts and supplies as needed.
