Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Electrical Design Engineer to join our team in designing and optimizing electrical systems for data centers. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, efficiency, and scalability of the electrical infrastructure in our data centers, contributing to the overall performance and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Electrical System Design:

  • Develop detailed electrical designs for data center power distribution systems, including medium and low-voltage power systems, UPS, generators, and switchgear.
  • Create and review electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and layouts using CAD software.
  • Perform electrical load calculations, short-circuit analysis, and coordination studies.

2. Project Management:

  • Lead and manage electrical design projects from conception through completion, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to project specifications and standards.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including mechanical, structural, and IT departments, to integrate electrical systems seamlessly.
  • Collaborate with external contractors, vendors, and consultants to ensure design accuracy and compliance with industry standards and regulations.

3. Compliance and Safety:

  • Ensure all electrical designs meet local, national, and international codes and standards (e.g., NEC, IEC, IEEE).
  • Implement safety protocols and procedures to mitigate electrical hazards and ensure the safety of personnel and equipment.
  • Conduct regular inspections and audits to ensure compliance with safety and regulatory requirements.

4. Technical Support and Maintenance:

  • Provide technical support during the installation, commissioning, and maintenance phases of electrical systems.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues, ensuring no downtime and optimal performance of data center operations.
  • Develop and maintain documentation, including design specifications, operation manuals, and maintenance schedules.

5. Innovation and Improvement:

  • Stay updated with the latest advancements in electrical engineering, data center technologies, and industry best practices.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in electrical design and operational efficiency.
  • Contribute to research and development initiatives to enhance data center performance and sustainability.

Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in electrical design engineering, preferably in data center or critical infrastructure environments.

Technical & Soft Skills:

  • Proficiency in electrical design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit).
  • Strong understanding of electrical systems, power distribution, and emergency power systems.
  • Experience with electrical load analysis, fault analysis, and protective device coordination.
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Certifications:

  • CTDC/ATD certification is a plus.
  • Familiarity with data center design standards (e.g., Uptime Institute, TIA-942) is advantageous.

Working Conditions:

  • Primarily office-based with occasional travel to data center sites for inspections, meetings, and audits.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with tight deadlines and multiple projects.
  • Fixed-Term Contract: 2 Years (with potential for extension).
