Education Technical Advisor (ETA) for USAID funded Equity and Inclusion in Education Project in Nepal [1] based in National Office Lalitpur

Key Responsibilities: 

Education Technical Advisor (ETA) is responsible for the management of the anticipated USAID-funded Equity and Inclusion in Education project in Nepal. This position will report to the Chief of Party for the project. The ETA will lead the development and review of project strategies to improve early learning and reading outcomes for all children, especially girls and boys with disabilities and /or other marginalized students.  The ETA will lead engagement with external agencies to ensure robust collaboration with other agencies working in catch up education, increased relevancy, effective teacher training, increased enrollment, and avoiding work duplication with other USAID education activities. Finally, the ETA will identify consultancy needs to ensure outcomes will be met, manage said consultancies, and review deliverables.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience required

• Master’s Degree or higher in education, international development, curriculum and instruction or related field. 
• Previous experience Education-related positions for other large-scale donor funded projects preferred, Fluency in English is required. 
• Familiarity with USAID programs, their history and their development; mastery of USAID regulations governing such programs. 
• At least 10 years performing in the Education sector, preferably within SE Asia.
•  2-3 years of experience in Technical Advisory role on US Government grants. 
• Familiarity with USAID Education strategy and work, and GESI action plan. 
• Contextual awareness of Nepal’s education and development sector. 
• Experience teaching and working with youth, especially out-of-school youth. 
• Knowledge of the principles of Inclusive Education and Universal Design for Learning. 
• Strong verbal and written communication skills along with facilitation, training skills. 
• Abilities in basic IT and remote communication applications and notions of ICT4E.
