Job Description

Conscious Impact Nepal (Chetanshil Prabhav Nepal) is a Nepali NGO that has been working in the village of Takure in the Sindulpalchowk district since 2015. Our work focuses on regenerative agriculture and agroforestry, sustainable construction, community infrastructure development, youth empowerment and education, rural development, and sustainable tourism. We host international and national students and volunteers to participate in community infrastructure and building projects, support the planting of thousands of trees with local farmers, and inspire young people to be active leaders in their communities.

Scope of Job

PO at Conscious Impact Nepal is responsible for designing projects as well as implementation plans that create a strong liaison with the organization’s goals, its stakeholder (individual or institutional) and its direct beneficiaries. The role requires strong communication and mediation skills and an in-depth understanding of development projects, non-profit institutions and their functioning. Good networking ability along with reporting and documenting is preferred.

Major duties and responsibilities

Planning

  • Develop and design evaluation plan for ongoing projects.
  • Prepare a detailed yearly work plan based on the organization’s goals and objectives.
  • Plan and conduct activity-specific need assessments.
  • Prepare budget analysis and propose solutions for the leftover budget.
  • Develop a monitoring and evaluation matrix for the program activities.

Implementation

  • Lead execution of approved activities
  • Collect supportive documents required for activity approval.
  • Keep a record of project activities.

Coordination and Communication

  • Coordinate with key informants in the community to establish early rapport and assist to provide an overall orientation of the project.
  • Conduct coordination meetings with schools and local stakeholders for effective implementation of activities.
  • Identify and engage key stakeholders who can contribute to project success.
  • Facilitate communication and collaboration between stakeholders, ensuring their needs and expectations are met.

Reporting

  • Prepare activity completion and monthly and periodic reports.
  • Compile experiences, lessons learned best practices and success stories from the field.

Qualification and Desired Expertise

  • Master's in Social Work, Development Studies, Education
  • At least two years in managing programs with Youth and Education
  • In-depth knowledge of IEC, BCC, Program Implementation Plan and designing
  • Hands-on experience in social mobilization, and collaboration with other organizations and government bodies.
  • Comfortable living communally and in a rural, rustic setting (basic earthen homes and shared bathroom/kitchen/common spaces)
  • Microsoft Office applications competency (word, excel, powerpoint)
  • Enjoy outside activities, field work and interest in walking 1-2 km for community mobilization and program work activities
  • Able to read, write and speak in Nepali and English; able to type in Nepali
  • Good interpersonal skills with working with international volunteers, living in a communal camp space together.
  • Able to travel to local schools for programs and site visits
