  • Master’s Degree in any relevant disciplines.
  • At least 5 years of experience in the Disaster Risk Management sector and preparation of Disaster Preparedness and Response Management Plan (DPRMP) or Local Disaster and Climate Resilience Plan (LDCRP) (at least one plan) as a lead consultant. Or experience in policy formation, national and sub-national level development/planning with the Nepalese government, and development partners.
  • Relevant experience in natural hazards, disasters, humanitarian affairs, vulnerability assessment, GIS mapping, and disaster risk management is required.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of Nepal's disaster risk management institutions, policies, municipal governance mechanisms, and emergency preparedness and recovery strategies.
  • Excellent knowledge and ability to produce high-quality documents on disaster sector governance, advocacy, local governance, political economy, and policy analysis.

Job Description

  • Conduct the ward-level consultation meetings to identify the priority activities, and areas as well as address the specific technical issues for the DRM Plan draft formulation.
  • Draft municipal level “Disaster Risk Management Plan” and support in framing the identified priorities into the document in a government policy format (should be in Nepali).
  • Consultation and coordination with ward and municipal authorities, non-government organizations, the private sector, and development partners to review the draft plan and outline their dynamic engagement in DRM Plan.

  • The letter of interest for Consultancy Service includes the work plan, timeline, etc.
  • A brief methodology on how will you conduct the work.
  • Financial proposal
  • Copy of legal documents such as PAN, and Citizenship card.
  • Personal CV including experience in similar projects and at least 2 references.
