REEEP-GREEN is a technical cooperation project agreed between the Government of Nepal (GoN) and the Federal Republic of Germany. With support of GIZ on behalf of the German Federal Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and co-financed by the European Union, REEEP-GREEN is executed by the Ministry of Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation and sets out to improve the preconditions for planning and implementation of measures for the promotion of renewable energies and the efficient use of energy in Nepal. The main objective of REEEP-GREEN is to create the regulatory, institutional, and private-sector conditions for disseminating renewable energy and improving energy efficiency in Nepal. REEEP-GREEN uses a multi-level approach consisting of five output areas: Output 1: Policy- Institutional and Regulatory Framework for Renewable Energy (RE) and Energy Efficiency (EE) at National Level; Output 2: Institutional Frameworks for RE and EE at Subnational Levels; Output 3: Sustainable Market Development for RE; Output 4: Dissemination of Results in the field of RE and EE; and Output 5: Energy Efficiency in Industries and Enterprises.

Position: Driver
Duty Station: Kathmandu
Expected joining date: June 2024

Responsibilities:

  • Drive staff members and partners on office related matters/visits safely.
  • Regular cleaning and checking of vehicle’s condition
  • Keep the vehicles logbook up to date and provide mileage analysis as per requirement (each time fuelling is done)
  • Ensure GIZ regulations are strictly followed during driving (seat belt fastened, limited number of passengers, Availability of Drinking (mineral) water, up to date first aid box)
  • Take care and keep record of required regular maintenance and follow-up maintenance schedules and timely report necessary repairs or other need for maintenance
  • Collect, handle and deliver mails/office letters, documents to GIZ Office/Programmes, other office, Partner Organization offices and Banks.
  • Immediately report any involvement of the project/office vehicle in any, even minor accidents, or any damage or theft of equipment from the vehicle
  • Keep track of yearly renewal of blue books of all cars
  • Assist in official administrative works
  • Other works as assigned by supervisor

Required qualification and experience:

  • At least 3 years of working experience as a driver
  • Secondary level education/SLC passed
  • Possession of a valid driver’s license
  • Able to communicate in English (spoken and written) skills
  • Knowledge of basic computer skills and computer applications such as MS office
  • Knowledge of use of smart phones and its applications
