Remuneration: TBS Salary Scale (National), dependent on qualifications and experience.


Job Description

  • To be able to teach elements of drama to classes, groups and individuals to a high standard using a wide range of repertoire and teaching resources.
  • To advise, encourage and assist in the smooth running of school events and performance opportunities, both within and beyond the school day, in Primary and Secondary e.g. assemblies, plays and performances, including directing.
  • To support in the organisation and storage of drama and performance equipment, including props and costumes.
  • To foster self-discipline and social skills necessary for drama.
  • To have a confident knowledge of various drama techniques.
  • To enrich the education of each student through the provision of appropriate experiences and to provide skills that will serve the student for future performances, be it for leisure, professional or examination/qualification purposes. 
  • To encourage students to gain knowledge and skills through learning in lessons and through the experience of group performances. 
  • To teach pupils in class,  group and individual settings as appropriate to the policies of the school, both in curriculum time and as part of the co-curricular programme.
  • To plan and keep accurate records of lessons, pupil progress and achievement, keep accurate attendance registers and other such records as required by the school.
  • To maintain a thorough knowledge of teaching methods and be able to differentiate the students’ learning according to their needs.  
  • To contribute to strategic planning within the Creative and Performing Arts Faculty.
  • To practise and uphold the policies and requirements of the school. 
  • Promote a positive profile of the School vision to staff, pupils, parents and the wider community.
  • To fulfil all directed commitments and occasionally other duties, as required by the line manager
  • To attend meetings as directed by the line manager
  • Confident to liaise with others in the school.
