Caritas Nepal, a leading national NGO, invites applications for HRRP Nepal from qualified Nepali citizens for the following positions in an Earthquake Recovery Programme to be implemented in Dolakha, Kavrepalanchowk, Sindupalchowk, Sindhuli and districts .The programme components include WASH, Shelter, Livelihood, DRR, Protection and Psycho-social support. The contract will be for 1 year with possibility of further extension. About HRRP Nepal: The Housing Recovery and Reconstruction Platform (HRRP) was established to support the National Reconstruction Authority (NRA), Ministry of Urban Development (MoUD) and Ministry of Federal Affairs and Local Development (MoFALD) Central Level Programme Implementation Units (CL-PIUs), other relevant government authorities, and Partner Organisations (POs) with coordination of the post-earthquake housing reconstruction. The HRRP is led by CRS Nepal, and other financial contributors include DFID, SDC, Caritas Nepal, Build Change, ACTED, Christian Aid, Plan International, Habitat for Humanity. The HRRP has been approved for the third phase of the platform at the beginning of March 2017 and will run until the end of February 2019.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s/ Masters degree in Economics / Development, Civil Engineering, Urban Planning, Social Studies, or Political Science
  • Minimum of three years of practical experience in cluster coordination, shelter, disaster risk reduction and management, humanitarian reform, preferably in natural disaster and other displacement situations
  • Demonstrated experience in coordination management, networking, and advocacy with government authorities and POs at the district level
  • Understanding of accountability towards beneficiary privacy and data protection
  • Familiarity with the region and context is an advantage
  • Knowledge of MS Excel, Outlook, Word, and Skype
  • Experience working with an NGO or INGO and/or governmental programmes

  • Excellent analytical skills with ability to make sound judgment and decisions
  • Very good planning, coordination, monitoring and organizational skills
  • Ethical conduct in accordance with recognized professional and organizational codes of ethics
  • Proactive, resourceful, solutions-oriented and results-oriented
  • Ability to work collaboratively as a team leader
  • A good sense of humour and capacity to work in a complex work environment handling multiple demands concurrently
  • Able to clearly communicate in written and spoken English
