Job Description

We are looking for a Director of Technologies, a visionary leader who can shape NAXA’s technical strategy, guide our passionate team of engineers, and build scalable, impact-driven platforms that start in Nepal and reach the world.

The ideal candidate will have a strong blend of expertise in IT and GIS platform development and management, supported by formal education and relevant professional experience. However, equivalent experience without formal qualifications will also be considered.

You’ll carry forward our vision and strategies, mentor a multidisciplinary team, and work with domain experts solving real problems for governments, UN agencies, and communities across Asia and beyond. You will lead the company’s technology strategy in close collaboration with the board of directors and senior management, oversee all technical operations, and ensure innovation and excellence across teams and projects.

The role requires a unique blend of technical depth, leadership maturity, and business understanding. The person will also play a central role in setting up and leading the NAXA SkillVerse Program, which aims to strengthen local tech talent and capacity.

If you believe innovation shouldn’t be limited by geography, that a team in Nepal can build world-class technology for global impact, we’d love to meet you.
If this sounds like you (or someone you know), do reach out.
Join us in turning ideas made in Nepal into solutions for the world.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Define and implement NAXA’s technology strategy in alignment with business, innovation, and impact goals.
  • Collaborate with the Board and senior leadership to translate organizational vision into technical direction and execution plans.
  • Establish and maintain system architectures, technology stacks, coding standards, and documentation protocols across all teams.
  • Build standardized, scalable, and modular systems to eliminate duplication of resources and ensure interoperability across projects.
  • Supervise and mentor a multidisciplinary team working across software, GIS, AI, data, and hardware domains.
  • Build and enforce a clear chain of command within the technical team to ensure efficient communication, growth, and accountability.
  • Lead recruitment, onboarding, and capacity development of technical talent.
  • Ensure that all digital platforms, applications, and maps meet high standards of usability, performance, security, and visual design.
  • Implement robust QA and testing processes across all stages of development.
  • Drive adoption of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps best practices for scalable deployments.
  • Lead R&D efforts in emerging technologies such as drones, AI, GIS, IoT, and data platforms for social impact.
  • Identify trends and translate them into actionable strategies that enhance NAXA’s competitive and technological edge.
  • Serve as the technical face of NAXA in client and partner engagements.
  • Collaborate closely with management, operations, and HR teams to align technology initiatives with organizational priorities.
  • Foster a strong culture of continuous learning, collaboration, and technical excellence.
  • Lead NAXA’s internal training and mentorship programs to build technical capacity across teams.
  • Manage technology budgets, infrastructure planning, and vendor relations effectively and sustainably.
