Director of Partnerships and Strategy

Term: 1 year commitment with potential option to extend

Role Description: 

The Director of Partnerships and Strategy will be chiefly responsible for maintaining and sourcing ongoing partnerships and fundraising for the Oda Foundation, integrating these efforts into Oda Foundation's long-term vision and strategy. They will report directly to both the US Board of Directors and the organization's CEO. In this unique role, the Director of Partnerships and Strategy will lead communications and reporting between the US Board of Directors and the Nepal team (as represented by the Oda Foundation CEO). In this role, the Director of Partnerships and Strategy will be expected to regularly travel in-country to build and sustain our partnerships in Nepal. 

The Director of Partnerships and Strategy is a key leadership position within the Oda Foundation. This role requires finesse in communications, including supervising and finalizing quarterly reports to the US Board of Directors, communications to US-based and Nepal-based donors, and maintenance and expansion of both US-based and Nepal-based donor pipeline and communications. 

Responsibilities:

  • Communicating between Nepal team and the US Board of Directors to maintain cohesive strategy and vision for Oda Foundation
  • Finalizing and communicating quarterly board reports
  • Spearheading Oda Foundation fundraising efforts alongside Oda Foundation's CEO, with a vision to integrate fundraising into Oda Foundation's long-term strategy
  • Working with each Oda Foundation department to amplify metrics and evaluation, with a perspective towards transparency and future funding for Oda Foundation's work
  • Working with each Oda Foundation department to assist with inter-departmental strategy and vision
  • Writing communications for US-based and Nepal-based donors, marketing, and proposals
  • Understanding and communicating Oda Foundation's strategy to a variety of stakeholders

Prerequisites:

  1. Written and spoken Nepali and English fluency, Microsoft Office fluency
  2. Experience in establishing systems for metrics and evaluation
  3. Proven success and experience in leadership and understanding long-term organizational strategy
  4. Proven success in written communications in Nepali and English
  5. Experience in fundraising and in communicating an organizational vision to a variety of stakeholders

Successful Candidates Will Have:

  • A strong interest to live and work in the Karnali region
  • An understanding of cultural norms and local dialect in the Karnali region
  • A strong ability to communicate verbally and written in a Nepali context as well as a Western context
  • Experience writing grant proposals 
  • Experience designing and/or implementing monitoring and evaluation methods
  • Experience writing impact reports
  • Experience leading a team and demonstrated strong leadership capability
