Job Description

Work Purpose: To manage all construction & support construction operations across the Nepal Earthquake Response in accordance to the agreed Response strategy and Plan. 

Minimum Qualifications and Experience required:

  • Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering from recognized university with at least 10 years’ experience in multidisciplinary projects in building construction, preferably in a community based construction projects
  • Strong analytical, problem solving and organizational skills
  • Ability to explain effectively the technical concepts in verbal and written format to all stakeholders
  • Service oriented with the ability to organize, prioritize, and delegate tasks while transferring knowledge and expertise.
  • Strong communication skills to interact with all levels of staff and management
  • Experience in project management and the ability to lead and engender responsibility in construction teams
  • Ability to train non-technical users in the use of technical systems in a cross-cultural setting
  • Experience in accountability, transparency and quality issues in the area of infrastructure programming
  • Good experience in community development in a developing context
  • Excellent English & Nepali communication skills (oral and written)
  • Demonstrated proficiency in computer applications including use of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Have positive learning attitude and concern for the poor and vulnerable people
  • Have high level of integrity and honesty, self-motivated, confident, and independent
