  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Information Technology, or a related field
  • 2 to 4 years of hands-on experience in data engineering or a related role
  • Proficiency in SQL, including writing basic to advanced queries (SELECT, JOINs, filtering, aggregations), with strong experience in SQL Server environments
  • Working knowledge of ETL processes and tools such as SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) and/or Azure Data Factory (ADF)
  • Solid programming skills in Python for data manipulation, automation, and scripting (including knowledge of variables, loops, functions, and common libraries)
  • Familiarity with data structures, algorithms, and basic programming concepts
  • Understanding of relational databases, data modeling, and database design principles
  • Experience with various file formats such as CSV, JSON, XML, and Parquet
  • Exposure to version control systems like Git is a plus
  • Experience working with reporting or BI tools such as SSRS and/or Power BI
  • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work both independently and within a team
  • Eagerness to learn new technologies and grow in a collaborative, fast-paced environment

Preferred Skills:

  • Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), or Microsoft Azure
  • Advanced knowledge of Azure Data Factory (ADF) and SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS)
  • Experience with Power BI report creation and dashboard development
  • Familiarity with cloud-based data platforms and services
  • Basic knowledge of Linux/Unix command line operations
  • Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or similar BI platforms
  • Knowledge of version control systems, especially Git
  • Familiarity with data formats like JSON, CSV, and Parquet
  • Understanding of data governance, data security, and best practices in data handling

Job Description

  • Assist in building, testing, and maintaining data pipelines and ETL workflows
  • Design, build, and maintain ETL workflows using tools like SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) or Azure Data Factory (ADF)
  • Write and optimize basic to complex SQL queries for data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL)
  • Manage and optimize data storage and retrieval in SQL Server environments
  • Support data quality checks and troubleshoot data-related issues to ensure data integrity
  • Work with various file formats and data ingestion techniques (e.g., CSV, JSON, XML, Parquet)
  • Support and develop data reporting solutions, collaborating with BI teams
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data and reporting requirements
  • Help document data processes, pipelines, and workflows
  • Learn and improve skills in Python scripting and data engineering tools
  • Mentor and support other team members while contributing to a knowledge-sharing culture
