Job Description

A Dairy Expert oversees the entire lifecycle of dairy production, from raw milk collection to the processing and manufacturing dairy products. This role ensures dairy production processes' quality, safety, and efficiency. S/he works closely with production teams, quality assurance, and R&D to develop high-quality dairy products while adhering to industry standards and regulations.

Roles and Responsibilities

Production Management:

  • Oversee daily operations of dairy production facilities.
  • Ensure efficient milk processing, pasteurization, and packaging.
  • Implement and monitor production schedules to meet demand.
  • Optimize production processes to improve efficiency and reduce waste.

Quality Assurance:

  • Develop and enforce quality control procedures to ensure product safety and consistency.
  • Conduct regular audits and inspections of production processes and facilities.
  • Collaborate with quality assurance teams to address any quality issues promptly.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety standards and regulations.

Product Development:

  • Innovate and develop new dairy products based on market trends and consumer demands.
  • Work with R&D teams to enhance product formulations and processing techniques.
  • Conduct trials and experiments to improve product quality and shelf life.

Regulatory Compliance:

  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations related to dairy production.
  • Stay updated with industry standards and implement necessary changes to maintain compliance.
  • Prepare and maintain documentation for regulatory inspections and audits.

Process Optimization:

  • Analyze production data to identify areas for improvement.
  • Implement lean manufacturing principles to enhance productivity.
  • Utilize automation and advanced technologies to streamline production processes.
  • Implement strategies to reduce costs and improve supply chain efficiency.

People Management:

  • Supervise and train production staff on best practices and standard operating procedures.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the production team.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback to team members.

Skills and Qualifications

Task Related

  • At least Master degree in Dairy Science, Food Science, or a related field.
  • At Least 5 years of dairy production or food manufacturing experience, preferably currently having the same role.

Competencies and Soft Skills

  • In-depth knowledge of dairy production processes and technologies.
  • Strong understanding of food safety regulations and quality control standards.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication and leadership abilities.
  • Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority.
