  • Hands-on experience in field mobilization, community development, and training facilitation.

Note: Preference will be given to candidates with prior experience working directly with cooperatives or through NGOs, INGOs, or development organizations.


Job Description

The Cooperative Coordinator will be responsible for building strong relationships with agriculture, women, and Multipurpose cooperatives, supporting their institutional development, and facilitating capacity-building programs. The role involves developing and promoting a cooperative-based Agriculture Resource Center through field-level engagement, cooperative strengthening, and coordination with relevant stakeholders to empower grassroots institutions. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the key liaison between company and cooperatives across Nepal.
  • Identify and map active cooperatives for collaboration to develop the Agriculture Resource Center as a local-level institutional structure of the company.
  • Facilitate linkages between cooperatives and the company’s services, including input supply, output marketing, technology transfer, and financial services etc.
  • Assess training needs of cooperative members and executive bodies (board/management).
  • Organize and facilitate training sessions on topics such as cooperative management, bookkeeping, leadership, entrepreneurship, agri-business, gender inclusion, etc.
  • Strengthen cooperatives' institutional capacity through tools, manuals, and mentoring support.
  • Support the implementation of field programs in coordination with MKCL departments and subsidiary companies.
  • Promote the participation of women and marginalized groups in cooperative activities.
  • Assist cooperatives in developing business plans, savings/credit programs, and farmer service centers.
  • Track progress of cooperative engagement activities, training outcomes, and challenges.
  • Maintain detailed field records and prepare monthly and quarterly progress reports.
  • Document success stories, lessons learned, and innovative practices for internal learning and external communication.
  • Collaborate with local government bodies, NGOs, and development agencies working with cooperatives.
  • Leverage government and donor-funded programs to expand support for cooperative development.
  • Facilitate joint events and exposure visits for cooperative members.
