Helen Keller has been operating in Nepal since 1988, initially focusing on eye care and Vitamin A supplementation, but has since expanded to include maternal and child health and nutrition, nutrition behavior change, and nutrition-sensitive agriculture, among other sectors. Helen Keller Intl. is an International Non-Governmental Organization (INGO) working in health and nutrition in Nepal since 1988 to improve the nutritional status of women and young children through evidence-based research and programs. Helen Keller Intl. in collaboration with the Ministry of Health and Population (Nutrition Division) and with ethical approval from the Nepal Health Research Council is conducting a research study on multiple micronutrients supplementation. Note: The consultant position is home-based in Kathmandu, with occasional meetings and coordination at the Helen Keller Intl, Nepal office.
Background:
The Consultant - Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing the work of Research Associates conducting quantitative data collection through mobile surveys from pregnant women enrolled in the MMS study across six provinces of Nepal, excluding Lumbini. The Supervisor will ensure adherence to research protocols, monitor data collection quality, and provide technical support to Research Associates. They will coordinate closely with the Research Officer conducting the physical onsite survey at the MMS demonstration study sites and follow Helen Keller research ethics.
Summary of the Job Purpose:
The primary purpose of this role is to oversee Research Associates conducting mobile surveys with pregnant women in the MMS study across six provinces in Nepal, excluding Lumbini. The Supervisor will ensure adherence to protocols, monitor data quality, provide technical support, and coordinate with the Research Officer at onsite survey sites, following Helen Keller research ethics.
The Supervisor will have to go through 3 days of training on overall program overview, data collection methodologies, and ensuring ethical Compliance.
