Role overview

The overall objective of this assignment is to support PRAYAS team in finalizing the project learning documents with appropriate printable designs.

Specifically, the objectives are:

  • Support PRAYAS team in designing fliers, photo collage, editing video footages, putting english sub-titles in the video.
  • Use of design software's (Canva etc) for designing IEC materials and print materials targeted for national level sharing.
  • Editing of stories compilation, design to printable version and translation as needed.

Skills, qualifications and experience

Required Qualifications and Experience:

  • Academic Qualification: A minimum of bachelor’s degree in Development Studies, Social Work, Management, or related discipline
  • Work experience: At least three years of work experience in developing project learning documents, writing, and editing stories, designing documents using design software and preparing project briefs in appropriate designs.

Consultant’s Deliverables:

  • Photo collage prepared 
  • Edited video footages with English Sub-titles 
  • Designed fliers and IEC materials using designing software
  • Translated stories and designing of stories compendium 

VSO’s obligations:

VSO will provide following to the consultant:

  • Consultancy fee/remuneration 
  • Support in coordinating with National Volunteers of PRAYAS project and project team at project districts.
  • Support in ensuring coordination for the team in consultant’s documentation finalization process. 
  • Access to all archived documents and support in explaining the usage of documents if needed. 
  • Travel and logistics related expenses as per organizations policy. The travel locations under this assignment are Surkhet and Janakpurdham.

Assignment Duration, Working Hours and Duty Station

  • The total assignment period is of one month i.e., December 2022. 
  • The consultant is expected to work for minimum of 22 days as per the working hours of VSO Nepal office.  
  • The consultant may be required to provide extensive support and work for additional days during National level sharing workshop of the project if needed. 
  • One day of paid leave will be provided upon approval from the line manager. 
  • The consultant will be based in VSO Kathmandu office with field visit to project sites as and when required

Payment

The consultant will be paid upon completion of assignment, based on deliverables as listed in the ToR and Timesheet verified by the Project Manager. 

Intellectual Property 

The contract will be work for hire. Therefore, all raw and final products produced under the assignment is the property of VSO.
