Funded by the European Union and implemented by the ICCO Cooperation led consortium with CEAPRED and Nepal Coffee Producers Association, the ‘Hamro Coffee’ Project aims at expanding opportunities for Nepalese coffee farmers and traders, and has been working since March 2017 to promote Nepalese specialty coffee in domestic and international markets. Given the scope of the project , the consortium is inviting proposals from eligible consultants to conduct a ‘Coffee market study in the European Market’.

Job Location: Kathmandu

Objective of the assignment:

The major objective of the assignment is to identify European Micro Lots Coffee Buyers in order to establish a relationship between Nepalese coffee traders, farmers and cooperatives, and European Micro Lots buyers. The consultant is required to map potential European micro-lot buyers that will facilitate selection of the most relevant buyers in the case of Nepal.

Scope of the Services and Tasks:

Desk review and documentation of key trends in coffee trading in EU
Identify and document potential micro lots buyers most suited for Nepalese speciality coffee
Facilitate meetings with the potential coffee buyers and document findings
Mapping and documenting the potential future investment in Nepalese coffee sector from European coffee buyers

Time frame of the study:

The study is required to be completed within 60 working days between February and April.
