Objective of the Survey

The overall objective of baseline survey is to identify the root cause; trends; dimensions and risk factors of women and girls being trafficked into the adult entertainment sector from Dalit and marginalized communities. Likewise, the survey will Identify available services; mechanisms and gaps for delivery of services to trafficking survivors. Similarly, the survey will Identify practicable alternative livelihood options or skills for women and girls working in entertainment sectors or find options for making these work sectors safer and more dignified. Furthermore, the survey will analyze related policy and legal instruments to ensure the access to justice and improve the identification, investigation and prosecution of human trafficking cases in the adult entertainment sector.

Survey Location

The survey will conduct in the Chitwan district covering Madi Municipality, a border area to India and Nepal (ward 8 and 9) and Rapti Municipality, another nearby boarder area to India and Nepal (Ward 1, 2, 5) and Bharatpur Metropolitan city, a must populated city of Nepal after the capital city (Ward 1, 2, 3, 4, 9 & 29).

Roles and responsibilities of the consultant

The consultant shall prepare the inception process, EOI, and work plan and budget that describes how the survey will be carried out and timetable for each activity.
Discuss with the project team to understand the project objectives and process.
Develop baseline survey questionnaire, agenda checklist, provide training to enumerators and collect data from field and data analysis.
Interpret findings from field
Suggest appropriate interventions, programme and plans to address the problem
Analyze the existing scenario and recommendations for project implementing team.
The consultant is responsible for writing the baseline report. In the same way, s/he will present findings to the concerned stakeholders’ meeting for the feedback/inputs/suggestions/comments and finally submit a comprehensive baseline report.

The organization advocates and supports for eliminating caste-based discrimination, promoting Economic, Cultural and Social Rights (ECSR) and ensuring equitable, inclusive and accountable democracy, environmental justice and sustainable disaster risk reduction through people cantered community development.

SUS calls for Expression of Interest (EOI) with detail proposal and budget breakdown to provide consultancy service to conduct baseline survey on "Adult Entertainment Industries and Vulnerability to Human Trafficking in Nepal" for its upcoming project, which will be implemented afterward June 2022 in collaboration with the CEDAR Fund, Hong Kong. The detail assignment is mentioned in the Terms of Reference (TOR).
