Kalika Self-reliance Social Center (KSSC) was transformed into a social development organization in the year 2051, according to Nepalese calendar. The popular uprising of 1990 fueled people’s aspirations for development, created opportunities and posed challenges. In absence of Non-State actors to address those challenges in Kapilvastu, Kalika took upon itself the task of stepping into the vacuum and taking lead in development initiatives. Since from 2012, through the partnership with Oxfam, KSSC has been implementing Livelihood & Empowerment project since 2012. The Project is aimed at improving livelihood and economic opportunities of poor & vulnerable household.

In line with the objective of the project for sustainable income generation, the project will help the producers to start-up and revive the business. Entrepreneurship development training is essential to the producers along with other trainings and inputs/technical assistance to improve their services and/or assess their efforts against best practice standards. To support to entrepreneurship training and enterprise development services as well as its sustainability, “Start and Improve Your Business-SIYB” trainings will be conducted to producer groups by the project staffs and local resource person. It is an entrepreneurship course to equip the participants with the basic skills to start their own business.

This training is being conducted to develop the capacity of the project staffs of selected members of LEP partners on entrepreneurship Development. It is an entrepreneurship development course to equip the staffs with the basic skills on entrepreneurship development. After this training, project staffs will be the SIYB local facilitator who can facilitate entrepreneurship development skills to producer and facilitate for product based business plan preparation to producer. This helps the producers to start and improve their business appropriate to their situation.

Objectives of the Assignment

  • Conduct and facilitate the Start and Improve Your Business-SIYB Level 1 of International Labour Organization (ILO) to the training participants (staffs of LEP partners)
  • Submit the training report.

Scope of Services and Tasks and Activities to be completed

The overall scope of this consulting assignment is to hire a Master Trainer (Facilitator) to facilitate the ILO certified entrepreneurship development training called Start and Improve Your Business-SIYB.

Activities will include, but may not be limited to, the following:

  • Preparation for the sessions and submit the session plan to KSSC
  • Facilitate the training program as the lead facilitator.
  • Responsible for collection and preparation of training materials required for the training.
  • Submit the Training report to KSSC in Nepal within 7 days after completion of training.

Expected Deliverables

By the end of the training, participants will be able to:

  • Conduct and facilitate the entrepreneurship training at the producer level.
  • Able to prepare a comprehensive business plan, costing of the multiple products.
  • Motivate the producers for starting the enterprises and marketing of their product.
  • Equip themselves with training and counseling skills to enhance their capabilities in supporting entrepreneurs at the local level.
  • Training report from the facilitator.

Reporting Line Manager

The consultant shall work with the LEP-Program coordinator of KSSC with guidance from LEP Project coordinator of Oxfam, Jawalakhel.

Duration: Start date and completion date

The estimated input of the consultant is 7 days (1 day for training preparation 1 day for report writing including travel and 5 days for training delivery). The assignment is expected to start on 21 February 2018 and be finalized by no later than 15 March 2018.

Documents for submission

  • VAT registration certificate
  • Tax clearance certificate
  • Agreed time sheet of all involved consultants upon completion of project – signed by consultant and hiring manager
  • Detailed work plan – agreed by consultant and hiring manager
  • Detailed budget sheet with breakdown – agreed by consultant and hiring manager
  • Actual invoices to claim for expenses as per mentioned in the contract
  • Cumulative or one-time procurement of service of NPR 1 lakh or more – VAT required

Confidentiality / Non disclosure

All material issued in connection with this ToR shall remain the property of KSSC and shall be used only for the purpose of this procurement exercise. All information provided shall be either returned to KSSC or securely destroyed by unsuccessful applicants at the conclusion of the procurement exercise.

During the performance of the assignment or at any time after expiry or termination of the Agreement, the Consultant shall not disclose to any person or otherwise make use of any confidential information which s/he has obtained or may in the course of this agreement relating to KSSC, the respondents or otherwise.

The consultant will be required to sign a non-disclosure/confidentiality agreement as part of their undertaking of this work.

Intellectual property, Copyright, and Ownership of all prepared information

The Consultant shall retain all rights to pre-existing (background) intellectual property or materials used by the Consultant in the delivery of this training. All arising intellectual property, ideas, materials, processes or processes formed in contemplation, course of, or a result of this training shall be passed to KSSC without restriction.

The Consult shall warrant that all arising Intellectual Property, materials and/or products produced in pursuit of this training shall be original, and shall not infringe on any third party’s claim. All technical or business information, in whatever medium or format, originated, collated or prepared by or for the Consultant in contemplation, course of, or as result of this assignment shall be transferred to KSSC without restriction on completion and shall not be used by the Consultant for any other purpose without express written permission of KSSC board.

Copyright of all arising documents, data, information or reports produced by the Consultant under this agreement shall belong to KSSC and will be passed to KSSC without restriction. Such documents, data, information, and reports shall not be used by the Consultant for any other purpose other than in conjunction with this assignment, without the express written permission of KSSC board.
