Helen Keller International is an International non-profit organization (INGO) working in health and nutrition in Nepal since 1989 to improve the nutritional status of women and young children through evidence-based research and programs. Helen Keller International, CARE, FHI 360, Nepali Technical Assistance Group (NTAG), Digital Broadcast Initiative Equal Access (DBIEA), Environment and Public Health Organization (ENPHO), Vijaya Development Resource Center (VDRC) together are implementing USAID funded Suaahara II Program in 42 districts. Suaahara II is also supporting the government of Nepal in preventing the transmission of COVID-19 in the community and in accelerating the vaccination uptake. Summary of Job Purpose:  

This position will be responsible for the development of a chapter on ‘Free Feeding’ for the Nutritional Rehabilitation Home (NRH) Treatment Protocol 2077 in close coordination with the Family Welfare Division (FWD) and the Suaahara Program II (SPII). Review relevant national and global documents including feeding plans and menus for children with acute malnutrition; conduct consultative meetings with SPII team and Nutrition Section, FWD; write up the chapter including feeding plans and menus reflecting the specific dietary requirement of children with severe and moderate acute malnutrition, respectively, based on locally available foods and as per the standard format of DoHS, MoHP.

Educational qualifications and experiences: 

Minimum Master of Science in Nutrition & Dietetics and have at least 5 years work experience with nutrition, dietetics and/or food science; preferred prior experiences in developing foods recipes and menus reflecting the dietary needs of specific groups; and proficient writing skills in Nepali.
