Job Description

The Construction Safety Manager shall be responsible for ensuring the safety and health among employees, workers, and communities during the construction of the Project. S/he shall assess working conditions in various components of the project, identify safety and health-related issues and risk, propose and implement solutions to mitigate those risks. S/he shall conduct health and safety training and procedures of construction jobs, control of the working environment, emergency planning and control, and accident reporting procedures in the project. 

Requirements:

  • At least 5 years of previous experience in the Health and Safety role preferably in hydropower projects
  • Minimum Master’s Degree in Engineering/Environmental Science with training and certifications in Health & Safety, e.g. OSHA, NEBOSH etc. 
  • Excellent knowledge of national regulations, international good practices and standards on the health and safety in Hydropower construction
  • Excellent recordkeeping, reporting, communication (written and verbal), interpersonal, and computer skills 
  • Willing to work at the hydropower project site on full time basis
  • Strong interpersonal skills
