Here’s where you come in:

The purpose of the Communications Officer is to provide expert technical support to produce communications materials to be delivered to stakeholders as part of the implementation of WV’s communications strategy in Nepal. The position is responsible for:

  • Developing and promoting evidence-based content to strengthen the organization position among stakeholders.
  • Giving support to publications development that is used for digital media engagement.
  • Giving support on internal communications that mobilize staff for strategy execution and impact.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Execute digital media plan to boost brand awareness, share impact and engage the public via social media and website.  
  • Contribute to campaigns and public efforts which seek to highlight, raise awareness and influence change on issues related to child wellbeing in Nepal.
  • Ensure WV branding, messaging, and style in all communications materials.
  • Gather and prepare engaging content (photos, videos and stories) from field visits as per support office/donor/national office requirements following WVIN standards and guidelines.
  • Design and generate factsheets, newsletter and other in-house publications as per plan.
  • Organize and host support office/donor marketing teams’ visits to the field.
  • Contribute in emergency communications during disasters as and when required
  • Generate publications and products that enable staff and key internal stakeholders to understand and respond to organizational priorities and initiatives.
  • Support capacity building of non-communications staff in writing, photography and videography
  • Support in the execution of all internal communications plan 

Knowledge/ Qualification/ Experience for the position:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communications/ Journalism or equivalent
  • Minimum 1-2 years’ working experience in Communications / Media field
  • Educational Background in Communications / Media
  • Expert in Video production & editing
  • Expert in Graphics Design
  • Good Copywriting skills
