Job Description

The Executive Search Unit at Merojob, on behalf of its client, is seeking a Cooperative Manager to oversee and optimize all aspects of cooperative operations—covering administration, finance, member services, and staff management. You will lead financial monitoring and reporting, strategize annual budgets and business plans, and ensure compliance with cooperative laws and regulations. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the overall operations of the Co-operative, including administration, finance, member services, and staff supervision.
  • Monitor financial performance and maintain financial records, statements, and reports in compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and implement operational strategies, annual budgets, and business plans.
  • Ensure compliance with cooperative laws, bylaws, and government regulations.
  • Lead and supervise office staff and support their daily activities.
  • Oversee loan processing, savings plans, and member account handling.
  • Maintain relationships with members and stakeholders, ensuring high-quality service and satisfaction.
  • Prepare reports for board meetings and coordinate with auditors and regulatory bodies as needed.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Management, Accounting, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience in a similar managerial or finance-related role (experience in a cooperative is highly preferred).
  • Good knowledge of cooperative operations, financial regulations, and reporting.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office and accounting software used in cooperatives (e.g., Swastik, Coopsys, etc.).
  • Ability to work independently and handle multitasking effectively.
