Rural Access Programme – Phase 3 (RAP3) is a 6-year DFID funded programme operating in 14 Districts of Nepal. It aims to improve people’s incomes and resilience through employment, sustainable access to markets and improved access to economic opportunities. RAP3 is seeking an experienced person to manage health, safety and wellbeing related activities for the Mugu Humla Link Road (MHLR) Project.

RAP3 is funded by UKAid and seeks to increase the economic opportunities available to the poorest and most vulnerable people in remote districts in Nepal by providing employment through maintaining and upgrading district roads, constructing new roads and economic infrastructure, introducing income generating activities, and building institutional capacity required for sustainable development.

The design phase of the Mugu Humla Link Road (MHLR) is to be carried out under RAP3 and we are seeking four (4) Civil Engineers for a six (6) month internship to support the MHLR team. This is a full-time field based position in Mugu and Humla districts and will not be transferable to other RAP3 districts. Applicants must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering (B.E.) from a recognized university, must possess a good working knowledge of written and spoken English, and must be available to start on Monday 27th February 2017. No previous experience working in the road sector is required. The selected candidates will be entitled to a monthly stipend with hardship and other allowances as per RAP3 norms.
