About Tergar Schools

Under the direction of Yongey Mingyur Rinpoche, the Tergar School Kathmandu project is the first of its kind, weaving together traditional Tibetan Buddhist principles and practices with contemporary approaches to learning. The project is supported by an international advisory board with a wealth of experience. The Tergar School Kathmandu, located in Sitapaila, Nagarjuna Rural Municipality is a non-profit boarding school, home to 82 students between the ages of 5 - 13, as well as 7 teachers, and 3 administrators. We are a trilingual school inclusive of English, Tibetan, and Nepali.

Job Description

This position will supervise 10 caregivers in a monastic boarding school which is overseen by Mingyur Rinpoche of Osel Ling Monastery. We are governed by the Buddhist principles of Awareness, Love and Compassion, Wisdom and Joy.

The successful candidate:

Serve as residential staff.
Provide supervision and guidance to caregivers.
Ensure the emotional and physical well-being of boys in our care.
Oversee general hygiene, including bathing and dental care.
Establish and support effective, safe, and caring routines for mornings, evenings, and weekends.
Direct and ensure cleanliness within the hostel and school campus.
Oversee and ensure efficient laundry practices.
Collaborate closely with school administration and the school nurse.

The preferred candidate:

Female Candidates are highly encouraged to apply
Should be 30 or older
Have a background in health-related fields.
Possess three or more years of supervisory experience in an accredited facility.
Enjoy working with elementary school-age children.
Have counseling experience, which would be considered an asset.
