  • Master’s degree in Business Administration, Management, Public Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum 2-4 years of experience in operations, strategic management, or leadership roles (preferably in the education sector).
  • Strong knowledge of international education policies and stakeholder relations.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple responsibilities and meet deadlines.

Job Description

Reports To: President, General Secretary, Secretary Manager & Executive Board

Job Overview:

The Chief Operating Officer (COO) will be responsible for overseeing ECAN’s day-to-day operations, implementing strategic initiatives, and ensuring organizational efficiency. Working in close collaboration with the President, General Secretary, Secretary Manager, and Executive Board, the COO will lead internal functions, enhance stakeholder engagement, and drive ECAN’s mission forward.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Operational Leadership

  • Oversee and manage daily operations of ECAN, ensuring smooth execution of events, programs, and initiatives.
  • Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) to improve efficiency and accountability.
  • Supervise departmental activities and ensure alignment with ECAN’s goals.

2. Strategic Planning & Execution

  • Work closely with the Secretary Manager, President, General Secretary and Executive Board to execute strategic plans.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and suggest improvements for organizational growth.
  • Ensure that ECAN’s activities align with its mission and vision.

3. Member & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Strengthen relationships with ECAN members, government agencies, diplomatic missions, and National/ International educational institutions.
  • Represent ECAN in designated official meetings and negotiations
  • Develop and implement strategies to increase membership engagement and retention.
  • Identify funding opportunities and manage sponsorship agreements.

4. Team Management & Development

  • Lead and mentor the ECAN Secretariat team to foster a culture of excellence and accountability.
  • Ensure effective internal communication and collaboration.
