Job Title: Chief Molecular Biologist

Reports to: CEO

Age: From 28 To 40

Gender: Male or Female

Work Location: Kathmandu Valley

Department: Molecular Diagnostics

Purpose Statement: To manage and lead Molecular Diagnostics Lab testing

Educational Qualification: M.Tech. /M.Sc./ Ph.D.in Biotechnology, Medical Biochemistry or related Molecular Diagnostic Field

Work Experience:

In the related field of Molecular Diagnostics specially handling Viral PCR testing
Preferable experience working with ABI platform
Should have experience of handling his/her department independently with all compliances
A suitable candidate must be presentable with decent communication skills
Computer and systems proficiency, specifically with MS Office systems, such as Word, Excel, and Outlook, as well as laboratory management systems

Primary Responsibilities:

Leadership role in management of the PCR Lab to operate it smoothly
Supervise the technical team and ensure operation of lab as per Government Regulation and Standard Operating Procedure (SOP)
DNA/RNA Isolation, DNA/RNA purifications, QC - should be thorough with isolation of DNA/RNA from various sources. Should be well-versed to handling large scale isolations both in manual and automated system
Perform Real-Time PCR for various genetic tests - should have experience in setting up and running RT-PCRs and analysing results.
Communicate procedures in written and/or oral form to team members in the lab
Coordination with cross-functional divisions for management of Samples/Inventory
Customer and Project Management
Documentation - preparation and updation of SOPs and STPs for equipment and workflows
Proper maintenance and storage of Chemicals, Consumables, Kits, Inventory and timely procurement
Generation of weekly/monthly Management Information System Reports as defined by Management
