Position: Chief Human Resources Officer

Main Duties & Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement both long-term and short-term HR strategies aligned with the company’s vision, mission, and business goals.
  • Translate business strategy into clear HR priorities and initiatives to improve organizational effectiveness and agility.
  • Ensure a lean and optimized organizational structure by analyzing and finalizing manpower requirements across business units.
  • Design and lead organizational capability development programs aligned with both business needs and individual potential.
  • Oversee end-to-end talent management, including acquisition, development, retention, and succession planning.
  • Drive succession planning by identifying and preparing backups for all key/critical positions.
  • Promote a high-performance culture through robust performance management frameworks and tools.
  • Monitor individual and team performance and implement strategies that inspire continuous improvement and excellence.
  • Build and lead leadership development and high-potential talent programs to create a strong leadership pipeline.
  • Employee engagement initiatives to foster ownership, motivation, and alignment with company goals.
  • Ensure competitive and equitable compensation and benefits aligned with industry standards.
  • Develop and implement reward and recognition programs that drive motivation and performance.
  • Develop and implement a company-wide learning and development strategy to upskill employees and align capabilities with business needs.
  • Promote a culture of continuous learning, innovation, and professional development at all levels.
  • Design learning paths, training programs, and competency frameworks tailored to functional and leadership requirements.
  • Ensure full compliance with all relevant labor laws and employment regulations in Nepal, including management of expatriate employee terms.
  • Provide proactive guidance to leadership and HR teams on compliance matters and legal risk mitigation.
  • Establish and maintain effective labor relations and industrial harmony within the organization.
  • Drive HR digital transformation initiatives and leverage HR analytics to support data-driven decision-making.
  • Ensure the use of HR technology platforms to enhance HR service delivery and employee experience.
  • Develop strong governance frameworks and closely coordinate with external partners and vendors for outsourced or support services.
  • Establish review mechanisms to ensure performance, compliance, and value delivery from all HR partners.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum of bachelor’s degree in management with minimum 20 years of working experience in directing and developing HR strategies and in providing HR services to businesses.
  • Minimum 8 years or managerial experience
  • Must have led HR in a multinational organization’s environment
  • Prior experience in telecom or large scale, transformation focused organizations preferred.

Profile

  • Thorough understanding and practical experience in contemporary HR systems and practices: Manpower Planning, Manpower Sourcing, Organizational / Individual Development, Performance Management System, Talent Management, Succession Planning, Employee Engagement, Compensation and Benefits, Rewards and Recognition, Employee Relations, Maintaining desired Culture etc.
  • Practical experience of handling union in a collaborative approach
  • Experience of exhibiting highly developed leadership and coaching skills
  • Experience of exhibiting highly developed interpersonal skills with focus on results
  • Experience of exhibiting analytical skills with problem solving capacity
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills
  • Strategic mindset with hands-on execution capability.
