Reports To: Chair of the Board of Directors

Job Purpose

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO)'s key role at NEPA is to collaborate with the Chair and the Board of Directors to continue to promote the development of the alternative investment industry in Nepal. As CEO, based on the strategic direction of the board, lead the secretariate team to ensure operationalization of NPEA's vision and goals. The CEO is primarily responsible for championing the interests of the industry including steering regulatory and policy advocacy, expanding membership, securing financial sustainability, and managing key relationships with domestic and international partners and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

1. Leadership & Governance

Support the Chair and the Board of Directors develop and approve long-term strategic plans and annual operational plans.
Ensure the effective execution of the annual plans approved by the board.
Ensure operational integrity and effective financial management including supporting the board prepare budget.
Ensure program compliance and transparent reporting to the Board of Directors.

2. Policy Advocacy & Stakeholder Engagement

Position NPEA as the authoritative voice for alternative investments by facilitating proactive policy advocacy with government ministries (e.g., Ministry of Finance), regulatory bodies (e.g., SEBON, NRB, DOI), and international development partners.
Support the board in its advocacy for structural reforms to improve the regulatory environment.
Forge and maintain strong strategic alliances with regional and international private equity associations, DFIs, and institutional investors to promote global best practices through effective capacity development initiatives.

3. Membership Growth & Value Creation

Design and implement targeted strategies to expand NPEA’s membership base.
Enhance member engagement through tailored value propositions, regular communications, and the creation of specialized industry working groups.

4. Ecosystem Programs & Knowledge Management

Organise industry conferences, roundtables, and high-profile networking events.
Oversee the development of specialized capacity-building programs, technical workshops, and seminars for fund managers, regulators, and entrepreneurs.
Lead the market intelligence initiatives of NEPA to track the industry trends and ensure the publication of its annual market snap-shot report supported through high- quality research and industry data.

Job Specification

Required qualifications for this job

Required Education Level:Graduate (Masters)

Required Experience:More than 5 years

Other Specification

Master's degree in a relevant field.
Minimum of 5 years of progressive professional experience, with at least 2 years in a management or leadership role.
Good verbal and written communication skills in English and Nepali.
Proven track record of managing complex, multi-stakeholder environments and communicating effectively with high-ranking public officials and C-suite executives.
Demonstrated capability to work independently, build institutional frameworks from the ground up, and deliver high-impact industry events or advocacy outcomes.
Training and education experience will be a value add.

Remuneration

A competitive remuneration package shall be offered commensurate to the candidate's qualification and experience. Additionally, a performance-based perks shall also be included in the package.
