Minimum 10 years of work experience in the managerial and leadership positions in tourism related organizations or programs.

Other Qualifications and Skills Required:

Proficiency in both English and Nepali language typing/writing/speaking
Having good leadership quality and interpersonal skills with sound knowledge of management
Having sound working knowledge of Nepalese tourism industry, especially the mountain tourism
Understanding of the products, target markets, key issues and opportunities for mountain tourism
Strong working knowledge on strategic tourism planning, product development, human resource development, promotion and marketing
Knowledge of protected areas, sustainable mountain tourism, climate change and hazards in the Himalayas
Having strong working relationships with tourism industry stakeholders and actors
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications such as MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and basic knowledge of design concept etc.

Job Description

Trekking Agencies' Association of Nepal (TAAN) - a reputed national tourism organization actively involved in the field of trekking and adventure tourism in Nepal seeks applications from qualified candidates for the following positions for the period of six months with the possibility of extension.

Responsibilities :

Act as the figurative head of the organization when communicating with stockholders, government entities and the general public
Lead the development of the organization’s long- and short-term strategies
Manage overall operations and make major decisions affecting the organization
Manage the organization’s resources
Negotiate or approve agreements and contracts for the organization
Manage company organizational structure
Communicate with the board of directors
Assess and minimize risks to the company
Set strategic goals
Provide company-wide leadership
Serve as the company’s primary spokesperson
Identify and address companywide problems.
Develop and uphold the company’s culture and mission/vision.
Implement strategic plans by working with senior stakeholders.
Evaluate and track the success of the company in reaching its goals.
