Experience Required: Minimum 5 years in Hydropower or Renewable Energy Sector
Qualification: Master’s in Finance / MBA (Finance) or equivalent
Background Preferred: Finance/Investment/Project Finance with proven leadership in renewable energy

Position Summary:
The CEO of Maya Hold Energy will lead the company’s strategic, financial, and operational goals, driving sustainable growth in the hydropower and renewable energy sector. The CEO will oversee project development, financial planning, stakeholder management, and policy alignment while ensuring organizational effectiveness. The role involves direct reporting to the Chairperson and collaboration with the Board of Directors.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership:

  • Develop and execute long-term business strategies aligned with the company’s vision and the Chairperson’s directives.
  • Identify, evaluate, and pursue new project opportunities in hydropower and renewable energy sectors.

Financial Management:

  • Oversee all financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and investor relations.
  • Ensure strong financial controls and risk management systems are in place.
  • Lead fundraising efforts, including negotiations with investors, banks, and development finance institutions.

Project Oversight:

  • Lead the planning, execution, and management of hydropower and renewable energy projects.
  • Monitor timelines, budgets, and quality standards for all ongoing projects.
  • Coordinate with technical and engineering teams for timely completion and compliance.

Stakeholder & Regulatory Engagement:

  • Represent the company in regulatory bodies, government agencies, lenders, and development partners.
  • Maintain strong relationships with contractors, suppliers, community stakeholders, and financiers.

Governance & Reporting:

  • Provide regular updates, performance reports, and strategic recommendations to the Chairperson and Board.
  • Ensure compliance with legal, environmental, and corporate governance standards.

Team Management:

  • Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing executive team.
  • Foster a performance-driven, accountable, and ethical organizational culture.

Key Qualifications & Competencies:

  • Proven leadership experience (minimum 5 years) in hydropower, renewable energy, or infrastructure sectors.
  • Strong financial acumen, including capital structuring, project finance, and investment analysis.
  • Experience in managing large-scale energy projects, preferably PPP or BOOT models.
  • Excellent strategic thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Superior interpersonal, negotiation, and communication abilities.
  • Understanding of Nepal's energy policy, regulatory framework, and local business environment.

Preferred Skills & Tools:

  • Proficiency in financial modeling tools and ERP systems.
  • Familiarity with PPA (Power Purchase Agreement), NEA regulations, and hydropower licensing processes.
  • Strong network with IFIs, DFIs, banks, and national/international investors.
