Position: Chief Business Officer
Reporting To: Chief Executive Officer 
Number of Requirement: 1

Purpose: Chief Business Officer (CBO) is primarily responsible for overseeing the organization’s overall enterprise and business-to-business (B2B) operations including that of fintech products in partnership. The role typically focuses on driving revenue growth, enhancing customer relationships, and developing strategic initiatives for large corporate clients, government agencies, and other business customers.

Main responsibility areas:

P&L Management

  • Responsible for the overall profitability and financial performance of the enterprise business unit.
  • Developing and managing budgets, forecasts, and financial targets for the segment.
  • Ensuring that revenue targets are met by managing pricing strategies, cost optimization, and driving sales.

Solution Development & Product Strategy

  • Leading the development of new solutions and offerings tailored to the needs of SME and enterprise customers.
  • Collaborating with product teams to create and enhance IT integrated solutions, data center services, internet services, and other enterprise products.
  • Identifying market opportunities and gaps and defining product positioning.                                               
  • Identify the need and gaps of fintech products and develop fintech products to drive through the fintech partner                                          

Partnership Management

  • Establishing and nurturing strategic partnerships with technology vendors, service providers, and third-party solution providers.
  • Coordinating with partners to bring innovative solutions to market and provide comprehensive offerings to clients.
  • Negotiating agreements and ensuring that partnerships are mutually beneficial and aligned with business objectives.

Sales Leadership & Business Development

  • Driving the sales strategy and working closely with sales teams to achieve enterprise client acquisition and retention goals.
  • Identifying and pursuing new business opportunities within the enterprise space.
  • Engaging with C-suite executives, decision-makers, and business leaders to understand their needs and tailor solutions accordingly.

Customer Relationship Management

  • Building and maintaining long-term relationships with key enterprise clients, ensuring high levels of satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Understanding customer challenges and working cross-functionally to deliver customized solutions.
  • Providing leadership in handling major accounts and complex customer needs.

Market Analysis & Competitor Intelligence

  • Keeping abreast of industry trends, technological advancements, and competitor activities.
  • Providing insights into market dynamics to help steer product and business strategy.
  • Using data and analytics to track performance and adjust strategies for growth.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Coordinating with other departments such as operations, marketing, finance, and technical teams to deliver seamless solutions to clients.
  • Ensuring that delivery teams have the necessary support and resources to execute projects successfully.

Innovation and Digital Transformation

  • Leading initiatives for digital transformation within the business segment.
  • Identifying opportunities for leveraging emerging technologies (such as cloud, AI, IoT) to create competitive advantages for clients.

Qualification and Experience:

  • Master’s degree in business administration backed by a degree in engineering
  • Should have at least 20 years of progressive experience in solutions and product development and marketing around ICT and telecommunication industry of which at least 10 years in leadership level leading P&L.
  • International exposure will be an added advantage.

Desired Skills: 

  • Leadership: Strong team leadership, with the ability to manage cross-functional teams and drive results.
  • Sales & Negotiation: Expertise in sales strategy, negotiation, and closing deals with large enterprises.
  • Strategic Vision: Ability to think strategically and drive business transformation in alignment with the company’s goals.
  • Partnership & Relationship Management: Strong network-building skills and experience managing vendor and solution-provider relationships.
  • Financial Acumen - Deep understanding of financial management, including P&L, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Industry Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of telecommunications, IT solutions, data center services, and internet technologies.
  • Customer-Centric Focused on customer success and delivering tailored solutions that meet business requirements.
